Gambia: awareness sessions about children's rights
Gambia, 12 January 2010 - The WCYA of Farafenni lead awareness campaigns about children's rights and the actions of the WCYA at Farafenni, Soma and the surroundings with two rap musicians. What mainly motivated the WCY to cooperate with the musicians was the desire to convey messages that touch and attract the attention of the community, especially that of children and youth. They had already organized many shows in Farafenni and plan to organize another show in Bansang, a nearby city, where a new grassroots group is currently being formed. Thanks to these shows, the Association registered a larger number of members, mainly children and received more recognition from the community.
