World Youth Conference 2010

Together with the United Nations System, Mexico invites every nation to celebrate the World Youth Conference 2010, as an opportunity for discussion and reflection regarding the role youth plays in achieving development, with special emphasis on the Millennium Development Goals (MDG).

The conference is an initiative of the Mexican government and includes participation from various countries.  The conference has full support from the United Nations System, as well as other multilateral organizations.  It will be held in the city of Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico from the 23rd to the 27th of August, 2010.

The WYC 2010 will have three spaces for participation, all of them linked with each other.  Each one will correspond to the three social agents which are strategic in making it possible for young people to be very involved in their own development.  It is about the young people themselves, the non-government organizations, the governments and the parliamentarians; the Social Forum, Governments Forum and the Legislators Forum were created with this in mind.
