The KidsRights Millennium Development Goals Conference 2010
As there are five years left to achieve the MDGs, the KidsRights Foundation has chosen the global event of the World Football Championship games in South-Africa as the perfect occasion to combine necessity with leisure.
With the support of Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu, the W.F. de Klerk Foundation, 1Goal Campaign and the World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates, KidsRights wants to redirect the world’s attention and energy to the position of children worldwide.
The MDGs have a great focus on the disadvantaged position of children, but in the development of the world as a whole the development of the children slowly fades into the background. In the presence of the world’s press we want to put the position of these children back into the spotlight.
