AMWCY: meeting of the communications group

Thies, Senegal, 3rd December 2010 -  The communications group of the AMWCY held their annual meeting from 22nd to 1st of December 2010 at the CCDD in Thies, Senegal. The meeting gathered 17 participants from 17 countries.

The group discussed the state of communication, foremost the activities that were implemented to give more visibility to the actions of the WCYS and of the associations. Then they shared information about the state of the preparation of the World Social Forum (WSF) which will take place in Dakar from 6th to 11th of February 2011. Also discussed where the activities planned by the AMWCY during the forum: - debates around topics that have to do with childhood like: mobility, education, light and limited work, health; - display of AMWCY publications and of the products realized by the WCYs; - cultural animation and concert.
The participants did also create a model of all the different communication supports aimed at the FSM: T-Shirts with drawings on it, banners, information handouts like pamphlets, tracts, etc.
They finally created the first draft of the 11th edition of "the challenges of the WCYs", the annual bulletin of the AMWCY. In order to get to this stage, they worked on the choice of articles and comic strips, the first page of the bulletin and the editorial.
